Legacy Power Systems manufactures and installs Emergency backup power systems, ranging from 25 kVA to 1600 kVA to client specification and are most cost effective in the design and supply of purpose build units which offer superior housing and sound attenuation characteristics, rather than the Standard Production units available which only adhere to standard supply parameters.

Our management and staff's experience exceeds 150 years in the electrical power supply and contracting industry, with more than 35 years in Electrical switchboard and Diesel Generator manufacturing and have extensive experience regarding site and installation and on – site commissioning of Power Generators to suit any application.

All Generators manufactured at our works in Port Elizabeth are fully works tested, complete with test report, and pre-commissioned prior to delivery to our clients.

Our Generators are manufactured utilizing only fully, South African supported engines and alternators and are supported by ourselves and available in the following primary options.

Open Base Load Units: These units are available from 12.5 to 150kV.

Open Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) (from 12.5 to 1600kVA

Enclosed Automatic Mains Failure (AMF) (12.5 to 1250kVA)

Enclosed – Soundproof AMF (12.5 to 1250kVA)

What makes us unique in this regard is that we conclude both electrical and mechanical builds in-house and as such offer improved lead times and are able to deliver exactly what is required for each individual application.

We provide a full installation service for the delivery, placement and installation of generators, with technically qualified installers, both mechanical and electrical.Our service includes a “Certificate of Compliance” as required for all electrical installations – including the installation of standby generators.

We also offer full  Asset Services which includes monthly inspections, diesel usage monitoring and refuelling and services at predetermined intervals with service contracts for Servicing of any Generator within the Eastern Cape region is aviailable with our Emergency / after hours technical assistance and call – out service.

In our electrical build workshops we produce electrical Distribution Boards  and motor control panels for numerous applications including Heavy industry (4000 Amp), Shopping Complexes (2000 Amp) and LT distribution Sub Stations.

We also manufacture specialized Motor Control Centers for various plant automation applications including Variable Speed Drive Control centers and Pump Station Motor Control (Bulk water supply, and Waste water treatment Pump Stations).
